Prepping for FAMLI: What you need to do to comply by January 1

In 2020, Colorado enacted and has been building the statewide paid family and medical leave insurance program (FAMLI) since then.

Under FAMLI, employees’ paid leave benefits — ranging from 12 to 16 weeks — begin January 1, 2024 to care for their own or a family member’s serious health condition, care for a new child, make arrangements for military deployment and for those in unsafe environments.

FAMLI will be enacted in stages, the first of which begins in January 2023, where employers are required to deduct premiums for each employee, through payroll taxes, to fund the FAMLI program.

If you’re wondering how best to prepare for FAMLI and you missed the in-person seminar, join us for the webinar Wednesday, November 9 as CADA Endorsed Provider American Fidelity’s HR/Benefit Consultant Melissa McDuffey leads the webinar, Prepping for FAMLI: What you need to do to comply by January 1.

Designed for Dealer Principals, Owners, General Managers and Controllers, Melissa will help you understand more about the program, requirements you must follow and how you can prepare your employees for it.

You’ll learn

  • What FAMLI is and how it is funded

  • Who’s eligible to participate

  • How the statewide program works

  • The pros and cons for other participation options

  • How you can prepare for it
